Brewery Wastewater Treatment

brewery wastewater treatment

If your brewery isn’t utilizing a wastewater treatment system or has an outdated one then you know how expensive a water bill can be. ClearBlu Environmental provides custom brewery wastewater treatment systems all over the United States.

Our equipment can be scaled and customized for small to large-size craft brewers. This allows brewers to stage in treatment as it’s required by the municipality, or if you are located in an area without sewer access. We also provide complete systems in package or pond format.

Five Main Components

The wastewater treatment system for breweries is broken into five main components:

High-temperature lift stations

Solid screening and settling

Automatic pH balancing

Aerobic Digestion

Final stage filtration

Each of the components can be installed individually, which helps brewers spread their capital costs over a period of time. This custom process provides a unique wastewater treatment system designed to lower your water costs every month. Biodigestion is the most environmentally friendly and low-energy method of cleaning up wastewater.

FAQs

Can ClearBlu systems remove solids (TSS) without a biodigester?

Yes, we can remove up to 95% of TSS and 20% of BOD by using a screw press. This system uses coagulants and polymers to bind the solids and press them out into a dry cake-like substance. This can then be disposed of along with other solid wastes in a dumpster.

Can your system handle high-temperature water?

ClearBlu designs systems based upon our customers’ parameters and needs. We can accommodate water at 190 degrees if necessary by using special materials, pumps and seals. We can also reduce the water temperature using heat exchangers and radiators specially designed to accommodate wastewater.

Why is solids removal so important for pH balancing?

Solids will act similarly to a sponge in a pH system, so that chemical is absorbed and chemical costs increase significantly. They can also cause pH to drop later in the process. By effectively removing solids, chemical consumption can be reduced significantly.
